Stephen J Gamma's first fighting instruction was from the hands of his father, Peter F. Gamma, in western boxing at the age of 5. He began his serious martial art practice in the Arts of Kuoshu Kempo and Oikuru Ryu Ju Jutsu in 1971
He holds black belts in both of these art forms, and was ranked at 5th degree black belt in the Tangmeanna Ryu Ju Jutsu system. After breaking away from the Tangmeanna Ryu system in 1994, Shihan Gamma officially presented the Inazuma Te Ryu Ju Jutsu system to the world after nearly a year of painstaking development and refining.
The techniques taught are mostly derived from the lifetime experiences as a bouncer for 9 years and a police officer for 14 years. Shihan Gamma puts forth three major points when teaching his students: Honest, Purity and Dedicated; and these are the main concepts of the Inazuma Te Ryu Ju Jutsu system.
